
Cockermouth School was proud to host the Rotary Young Musician competition alongside our own annual Composition Prize. The event showcased the remarkable talent and creativity of our students, with performances spanning a wide variety of musical styles and genres.
Our young musicians delivered outstanding performances throughout the evening, impressing the audience with their skill, confidence, and passion for music. We are delighted to share that the winner and runner-up will now progress to the next stage of the Rotary Young Musician competition in February 2026.
The evening also highlighted the incredible originality of our student composers. Four unique compositions were presented, including a piece created for a space documentary and an exciting cat and mouse chase sequence. Each composition demonstrated exceptional imagination and musical understanding.
